How to say “I love you” in different Bisaya dialects?
I can only gather five different Bisaya dialects if I include Bicolano for the phrase “I love you”. Bicolano is also spoken in some parts of Masbate.
1. Cebuano – “Nahigugma ko nimo” or “Gihigugma ta ka” – spoken primarily in Cebu City, Siquijor, Bohol, parts in Negros Island, majority in Mindanao.
2. Bicolano – “Namumutan ta ka” – spoken in Bicol, Catanduanes, and Masbate.
3. Waray – “Pina-ura ta ikaw” – Samar, Biliran and some parts of Leyte.
4. Kiniray-a – “Ginapalangga ta ikaw” – spoken in Antique, Aklan, Capiz and some parts of Iloilo
5. Hiligaynon – “Palangga ta gid ka” – Western Visayas, Masbate, and some parts in Mindanao.
